WELDING BLANKETS

welding blanket is a piece of safety equipment designed to protect equipment and the welder while welding. A welding blanket typically consists of a layer of flexible protective material containing unexpanded vermiculite and inorganic heat resistant fibrous material.

Lotus offers an extensive product package to provide shielding against sparks and welding spatters. The choice depends on the type of risk, the frequency of use, the proximity of the spark source and the different environmental factors. Products can be supplied for horizontal applications or vertical solutions. In a great many cases it is also necessary and possible to supply custom made products. In order to help you choosing the blanket suitable for you, we have divided our welding blanket into 3 product groups, as shown above.

Description

PREMIUM

Lotus Premium welding blankets meet the highest quality standards and are made from top quality materials. They can be used in situations where spatter or sparks reach very high temperatures. Lotus Premium welding blankets are available in various standard sizes or can be custom-made according to the client’s specifications.

    • Approved according to the highest applicable standards
    • Suitable for horizontal and vertical use
    • Produced from high-quality materials
    • Suitable for high to extremely high temperatures
    •  Fibreglass cloth (texturized)
    • 1 sided aluminium foil
    • Temperature resistance 550°C
    • Radiation temperature 1.000°C
    • Protection against radiation heat
    • Material weight 1,060 gram/m².

Ares is a fiberglass fabric, with an aluminum foil on one side. The foil is applied to the fabric (heat resistant bonding agent) and gives the fabric a high heat radiation reflection. Temperature resistance fabric 550°C, radiation temperature ± 1000ºC and contact temperature bonding agent ± 180ºC.

Ares welding blankets are very suitable for protection against radiation heat. The foil with which the fabric is coated is resistant to abrasion and cracks.

Description

For the Leto heat resistant fabric high quality silica fibres are used, which are environmentally non-hazardous. Leto is treated with a mineral based finish to improve its abrasive resistance and the resistance to fraying. Leto is free of asbestos!

The maximum application temperature is 1000 °C, shortly up to 1300°C.

Leto is recommended for horizontal use, for example as a welding and grinding curtain in situations in which very high temperatures are reached. Leto silicate-fabrics have excellent characteristics in relation to handling and resistance to high temperature loads. Therefore this fabric is suitable for use as welding blanket even under extreme conditions.
